We have the Union Jack as part of the Australian flag. It is true that the history of Australia is aboriginal history, but we are irreversibly linked to Britain. We owe a duty to study both aboriginal history and the history of Britain. Here is an easy-to-listen-to potted history of England, the place where our language comes from. Before you reject the concept, I hear people say: “Speak English, or go back to where you come from!”
